State Representative Sheri Jesiel (R-Winthrop Harbor) was sworn into office in July 2014 to fill the vacancy left by retiring State Representative JoAnn D. Osmond. Sheri is a lifelong resident of the Zion-Winthrop Harbor area where she raised her three children and attends Christ Community Church. A graduate of Carthage College, Sheri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Representative Jesiel is a former Program Director and staff member for Camp Zion and attended the Zion-Benton Leadership Academy in the fall of 2013.

In addition to being a full-time legislator, Sheri is employed as a Business Manager and Accountant. She is currently one of the only two Certified Public Accountants to serve in the Illinois General Assembly. Sheri’s business experience in corporate headquarters, not-for-profits, and small business has given her a unique perspective on what is needed to create great paying jobs right here in Lake County.

Representative Jesiel believes that the only way to end Illinois’ fiscal crisis is by bringing in jobs that the hard working people of our state desperately need. Sheri has stated that her top priorities in Springfield are jobs, education, and reducing the size of Illinois government.
